Paint Correction is the removal of defects that are present on your paint to restore it to a new, or even better than new state. This includes swirl marks, surface scratches, RIDS (random isolated deep scratches), holograms, oxidation, marring, water spots, and bird drop etching. Most commonly, these defects occur from automated car washes or improper washing techniques, but can range from many other causes from finger nails to key scratches.
It is very common to see detail shops use products known as “fillers,” which are temporarily filling the scratch, but not truly removing them. If you have ever wondered why the vehicle looked in poor condition after a few washes, you will know that it was a quick cover up job. The only real, true way to remove these defects is the process of paint correction.

Do I need Paint Correction?

Many other things can be the culprit of the types of defects listed above, but these are known to be the most common.
